Terms of Service

Berai is an online platform where travelers find and book stays hosted by NGOs and community organizations across Bangladesh. Berai lists each place, takes bookings, and collects payment. The organization that runs the place (the “Host”) provides the stay itself.

Berai is not the owner or operator of the properties listed. We audit each Facility against a quality standard before it is listed, but the Host is responsible for the accommodation, meals and activities it provides.

By creating an account, browsing the site or making a booking, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Berai. You must be at least 18 to create an account or make a booking.

You can sign in with a mobile number (a one-time code is sent by SMS) or an email address (a sign-in link is sent to you). Give us accurate details and keep your phone and inbox secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Some stays or Hosts may ask you to complete your profile or share an identity document before a booking is confirmed. This is covered in the Privacy Policy.

• Prices are shown in Bangladeshi taka (৳) and may include taxes and a Berai service fee, which is shown before you confirm.
• Berai collects payment online, before you arrive, on the Host's behalf. You do not pay the Host directly for the booked stay unless the booking says otherwise.
• A booking is confirmed when you receive a confirmation from Berai. Some bookings need the Host's approval first, and the Host may send you a custom offer.
• Extras you arrange on site, such as additional meals or activities not in your booking, are agreed and paid for with the Host.

Stays marked “Sample stay” are illustrative examples shown before launch and cannot be booked yet. Booking opens on launch.

The cancellation terms that apply to your booking are shown on the stay page and in your booking confirmation. Where a refund is due, it goes back to the payment method you used and may take several business days to arrive.

If a Host cancels or cannot provide the stay you booked, Berai will help you rebook or will refund what you paid for the affected nights.

• Follow the Host's house rules and respect the people, property and community.
• Give accurate information about who is traveling, including the number of guests.
• Do not use Berai to break the law, harass others or misuse the messaging tools.
• You are responsible for damage you or your party cause during a stay.

Organizations listing a Facility agree to keep their information, photos, prices and availability accurate, to provide the stay as described, and to treat guests' personal data only for delivering the stay.

Berai charges a commission only on completed, paid bookings, and pays the Host's share after each completed stay. The commercial terms for each Host are set out in its partnership agreement with Berai, which prevails over this section for that Host.

You keep ownership of what you submit (such as messages or reviews) and give Berai a licence to display it on the platform for as long as it is needed to run the service. Berai's name, logo, design and the site content are ours or our licensors' and may not be copied without permission. Photos on sample stays are illustrative.

We work to keep Berai accurate and available, but the service is provided “as is” and we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Travel carries risk, and conditions at a Facility can change.

To the extent the law allows, Berai is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what a Host or other third party does or fails to do. Our total liability for any claim relating to a booking is limited to the amount you paid Berai for that booking. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

We may suspend or close an account, or cancel a booking, if these Terms are broken, if information is false, or to protect guests, Hosts or the platform. You can stop using Berai at any time and ask us to delete your account.

We may update these Terms as Berai grows. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or on the site. Continuing to use Berai after a change means you accept it.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of Bangladesh have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the law of your country of residence gives you mandatory rights that say otherwise.
