Rain Tree Rest is a forest-edge retreat in Sreemangal, built around a huge rain tree and a pool in its shade. Dark timber villas with clay-tile roofs and cane screens sit among the trees, with glass walls onto the green. The work villa has a long table, a proper chair, and fast internet. The evenings are not for work. Shalbon Society runs the retreat with a small team from the area. Walks leave from the gate and stay on the forest edge. This is not a park entrance and not a tea resort.
