Ektara Courtyard is a small courtyard stay in Kushtia, built in brick and terracotta around a lawn and a raised veranda. The rooms have tall glass doors onto the yard, white linen, and jute underfoot. Evenings are the point. Someone from the para brings a dotara to the veranda, and guests sit. Nobody sells a ticket, and nobody promises a famous singer. Surer Gram Society keeps the house as a place to hear the music that already lives in this district. Daytime is slow: a pond, a lane, a long lunch.
